Uncle Peter invited the whole family to his apartment along East Coast for this year”s National Day celebration. For us, it is probably the best place to be – able to view the fireworks from his 15 storey high unit while sitting at the comfort of the breezy balcony watching NDP live on television.
The day started off at Adelene”s house for lunch, it was her dearest grandma”s treat. The table was filled with roasted chicken, roasted duck, and together with drunken prawns, steamed fish and soup. Lunch was great – so full I couldnt help but almost fell asleep at her computer desk. Thanks grandma for the treat!
It was about 2.30PM when we left the house for Uncle Peter”s at Meyer road – near Tanjong Katong. I wore red and white and I swear it is the only day of the year that I am willing to wear this color combination or I will attract very curious eyes. I had a little flag on top of phit too. Watch this =)
Note: I did not add any background music to this video, it is playing from my car audio. =P
Almost everyone was there already and they were in the function room chit chatting loudly (as usual) and enjoying the vegetarian food on the table, atmosphere was so cheery with everyone in bright red. I was the brightest I guess.

I was in PURE fresh red and white. Short of the crescent and stars or I can display myself on one of the lamp post.
My cousins, Diane and her boyfriend, Adelene and I went to the park nearby for a walk and we saw a unique looking tree. We played with the swings, walked around, got some foot massage (walking on the pebble pathway), took some photos before we head back.

My younger cousins on the swings.
It was almost 6PM and all of us were waiting for the live telecast of NDP on the huge LCD television. I was sitting at the balcony watching both the broadcast and actual view of Singapore”s city skyline, admiring the Singapore flyer without any blockage.
The fly pass was the killer event for me, right after they passed the floating platform, the chinook and the three Apaches flew towards us, still in their formation. Although they were not as close as they were when Adelene and I were watching them from Marina Barrage a week ago, it was an excellent experience.

Not a very good shot but at least I captured all planes involved in the fly pass.
Not much comments on the parade itself but I do notice quite a different style which sets this year apart from the previous years. Great effort.
The 822 came and everyone stood up to say the pledge. It was quite a rare sight to look at my own family members taking the pledge because normally I when I say the pledge, I was either in school or in army camp. Very memorable. I had to skip the pledge this time to record down because I am so going to keep this video forever.
(For those of you who think this 822 thingy is stupid and a waste of time and go around criticizing whoever came up with the idea, I say you pack your bag and get your sorry arse out of Singapore. It is just a quick less than a minute pledge for those who love their country. If you are not going to do it, just switch off your television and go play with your toys or at least keep your mouth zipped. What is the point of you criticizing so loudly but hiding your pathetic arse behind that screen of yours? If you really hate your country so much, go somewhere else. Sick cowardly people. All words but no damn balls to do anything)
Sorry for that crude ranting. Just wanted to get some things off my chest.
Despite some hatred for the way things are done here, I still love Singapore because it is my home, I grew up here, my friends are here, my family is here and all my memories belongs here.
Anyway.
The parade ended and from that magical balcony, we saw President Nathan”s car and his traffic police escort driving along ECP at some super speed.
We had some cakes before everything was over.
That rounded up our celebration for Singapore”s 44th birthday.
Happy birthday Singapore =)

Hope I’ll be the one you captured flying the Singapore flag in a few years time! Haha.
Opps capture in the photos I mean.
Haha alright man will be waiting for that day!
haha… nice 1… Singapore! Jia You!!
